"The Ondo State Police Command has also come out with the report of a preliminary investigation into the royal street fight.
The result showed that the monarch committed a criminal offence.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Aremu Adeniran, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, explained in a statement in Akure that a high powered investigation team set up by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Magaji Nasarawa, had since submitted its interim report.
He said, "The matter is purely a criminal case and not a domestic affair as being insinuated in some quarters." Adeniran said the matter had been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department and that the outcome will be made public as soon as it was concluded."
